10 Lord Roberts Rd, Beverley, HU17 9BE

Set in a former Baptist church, Beverley's East Riding Theatre has rapidly become one of the premier centres for performance art in the region. The theatre opened its doors in 2014 and since then has been putting on critically aclaimed shows to packed audiences. Performances to date include adaptations of Shakespeare plays, Dickensian dramas and original productions such as 'A steady rain' and 'Sparrow'.

The auditorium at the East Riding Theatre is impressive due to the historical status of the building. It is lit by large Edwardian windows and seats an audience of around 200 people.

The patron of East Riding Theatre is Dame Judi Dench and the Creative Director, and one of the theatre's founders, is Vince Regan (actor and Beverley resident). The theatre doesn't receive any public funding; it relies on ticket sales, sponsorship and local volunteers to keep it running. There is also a House Cafe/Bar situated in the theatre which is open before and after shows (generally an hour before the show begins).
