Beverley Street Angels area a group of volunteers that patrol the streets of Beverley town centre in hi-vis jackets, on a night time, ready to care for the vulnerable and needy. Launched in 2012 and run by the church in Beverley, they have helped hundreds of people safely on their way.
Volunteers from Beverley Street Angels give their time on Saturday nights until the early hours of Sunday mornings and also help man special events. As well as helping people safely on their way, they give out bottles of water and administer first aid. Beverley has a vibrant night time economy but obviously this comes with its challenges, especially where drink is involved.
As part of the Christian Nightlife Initiatives (CNI) Network, the group are on the streets in all weathers, supporting and caring for those who have become vulnerable at night. The network is the umbrella organisation for local projects working within the night time economy in many countries around the world.
