Friar’s Lane , Beverley, HU17 0DF
Beverley Friary is the last remaining example of a Dominican Friary in the region. The friary is a building of considerable cultural heritage maintaining many original features. Located close to the town centre in a peaceful garden it is now an active youth hostel. The friary is said to be haunted and stories are told about a Dominican Friar who has been seen smiling kindly at the kitchen door, and ethereal monks occasionally wandering through the dining room.
As well as being a youth hostel, Beverley Friary is open to visitors for tours, meetings or musical events.
