The Parkway Cinema at the Flemingate Shopping Centre is launching its first pantomine, Aladdin, live on stage over the festive period. The pantomine starts on 16th December and runs until Sunday, January 1st 2017. Unusually for a cinema, this live event is taking place live on stage in the Parkway Cinema's Hayward Theatre.

The pantomine stars Scarborough born actor Joe Maw as Wishee Washee. Joe is know for roles in CBBC's Tracey Beaker Returns and its spin off show, The Dumping Ground. Also in the pantomine are dancers from the Fleur Elizabeth Academy of Dance who are based in East Yorkshire.

The pantomine tells the story of a poor boy, Aladdin, who falls in love with Princess Jasmine. He gets locked in a cave by his wicked Uncle Abanezer and finds a magic lamp. Helped by the genie of the lamp, he escapes and the fun continues from there.

Tickets for the pantomine are available from the Parkway Cinema website or by calling the cinema on 01482 968090. The show runs for 2 hours and costs £12.50 for adults, £11.50 for concessions and £38 for a family of four.
