The Beverley Early Music Festival marks its 30th anniversary in 2017 which ties in with Hull's city of culture year. The festival takes place around Beverley from Friday 26th May - Monday 29th May and is designed to bring together the history, ecclesiastical architecture and music of the past for the people of today, and to encourage visitors into the area.

This year, the artists that will be appearing include The Tallis Scholars, the orchestra La Serenissima and the ever-entertaining Carnival Band. Highlights include musical workshops for all ages, an opportunity to attend a recording of BBC Radio 3's Early Music Show presented by Lucie Skeaping, and a major new exhibition of illustrated musical manuscripts entitled 'Through the Looking Glass' in Beverley Minster.
The festival started in 1988 and is organised by the National Centre for Early Music in York. A brochure for the festival, along with details of all the events can be downloaded from the Beverley Early Music Festival website.
